Reiterating its commitment to assisting the Chinese automotive industry and its current members in manufacturing activities in China, AIAG has named Steven Hiseih, PhD, as General Director of Asia Pacific.

Southfield, Mich., May 23, 2022 (GlobeNewswire) – The Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) today announced that it will establish a new representative office in Shanghai, China to enhance the company’s ongoing cooperation with Chinese OEMs and their Tier-1. Suppliers support the sub-tire supply base and strengthen AIAG’s relationship with Chinese regulatory and supervisory authorities. Steven Heisie, Ph.D., has been named as the AIAG General Director, Asia Pacific, and the chief representative of the AIAG China office.

Dr. His has more than three decades of autonomous experience in China and the United States, and enjoys extensive professional networks in both countries. It also has extensive OEM experience – holding leadership positions in purchasing, quality, logistics, product design and operations – and has been instrumental in bridging the work of OEMs and suppliers and developing the supply chain in China. This skill and experience will enable him to perform well in his new role as he collaborates with industry leaders to identify unique emerging quality issues for the Chinese market and help OEMs and suppliers reduce risk, manage uncertainty, achieve more predictable production results and delight future vehicles. Dr. Hsiyeh continues to work with the International Automotive Oversight Bureau (IAOB) and the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) to strengthen and support supplier compliance with the IATF 16949 Global Quality Management System Standards in China. Advisory Committee (ACQAC) and currently serves as its Secretary General.
