Hazel has announced the appointment of Claxton to the Allied Board

Toronto, May 24, 2022 (Globe Newswire) – Allied Properties Real Estate Investment Trust (“Ally”) (TSX: AP.UN) announced today that Hazel Claxton has been appointed by the Trustees as Allied Trustee (a“ Trustee ”). He shall act as trustee until the next annual meeting of the unitholders or his successor is elected or appointed.

“Hazel Claxton is a welcome addition to our board because we are in the process of renewing the board,” said Gordon Cunningham, chair of trustees. “He has brought a unique combination of strategic focus on commercial intelligence and talent to the Allies, and I know he will make significant contributions to the Allies in the years to come.”

Hazel Claxton is a corporate director. He worked at Morneau Shepell Inc. from 2013 to 2018. (Currently LifeWorks Inc.) as Executive Vice-President and Chief Human Resource Officer. Prior to that, Mrs. Claxton spent 29 years at PwC Canada, where she has held various leadership roles, including being a member of the Canadian Leadership Group, Human Capital Leader, and partner of the Corporate Advisory and Restructuring Group, an area where she has practiced for 20 years.

Mrs. Claxton is currently serving on the boards of TELUS Corporation, University Pension Plan Ontario and Unity Health Toronto. Previously, he has served on the boards of Queen’s University, St. Michael’s Hospital and the Shaw Festival Theater. Hazel holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) from Queens University and an ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Accountant.
