Like any industry, the epidemic has thrown air travel for a loop – forcing some airports to close, turning others into ghost towns for extended periods of time and crippling some airlines.

This week’s Down-to-Business Flying looks at business and analyzes what’s happening at airports today amid long lines and extended waiting reports.

Guests included Mike McNani, YVR, Vice President and Chief External Affairs Officer of the Vancouver Airport Authority; Wesley Lesowski, president of the Air Canada component of the Canadian Union of Public Employees, which represents about 9,500 flight attendants from Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge, as well as president of CUPE’s airline division, which has about 9,000 Canadians; Barry Rampel, who retired in September 2021 as president and chief executive of the Winnipeg Airport Authority; And Ryan Burger, Senior Principal and Aviation Architect at Stantech Inc.
